Authorities have identified two men who were killed when a small plane crashed at a New York airport moments after taking off. The incident happened on Long Island at MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma around 6:15 p.m. Monday, July 22. Suffolk County Police said a single engine Beechcraft Bonanza A36 took off heading south from the airport and was attempting to return to the same runway when it crashed. Seen Her? Alert Issued For Missing 30-Year-Old Long Island Woman
Police are asking for help in locating a Long Island woman who was reported missing. Eva Kruslinski, age 30, was last seen in Huntington Station on East Jericho Turnpike at around 1:45 p.m. Monday, July 22. Suffolk County Police said she suffers from bipolar disorder and may be suicidal. Kruslinski was wearing a black tank top and shorts and may have traveled to the West Babylon area. Fatal Crash: 31-Year-Old ID'd As Victim On East Patchogue Roadway
A 31-year-old was killed in a crash on Long Island. The incident happened in East Patchogue, on Americus Avenue south of Brookhaven Avenue, at around 8 p.m. Thursday, July 18. Suffolk County Police said the man, Noe Moran Contreras, of East Patchogue, was operating a dirt bike when he lost control and struck a pole. He was taken by ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. Investigators impounded the bike for a safety check. A Long Island cardiologist and convicted sex offender is facing years in prison for again possessing images depicting child sex abuse. Frank Pollaro, age 55, of Deer Park, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, July 11. According to prosecutors, in September 2023 the Suffolk County Police Department was tipped off that a user was uploading images of child pornography on the website Freechatnow.com. Missing Long Island Boy May Be With 'Suicidal' Father, Authorities Say
Authorities are searching for a 5-year-old boy who may be in danger after going missing from Long Island. Henderson Calderon Carranza was last seen on Tuesday, July 9 in Central Islip, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse. On that day, the boy was spotted on East Elm Street at 11 a.m. and is believed to be with his father, Jose Calderon Arias, who authorities said may be suicidal. Taner Ocal, age 22, of Lindenhurst, was arraigned on 30 criminal counts, including possessing child pornography, in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, July 11. Police are asking for the community’s assistance in locating a 16-year-old who has been missing for days from her Long Island home. Katherine Monterosa-Herrera, age 16, was last seen on Wednesday, July 3 in Lindenhurst, the Suffolk County Police Department said. That day, she was leaving her home with her belongings and passport. A man lost a finger in a Fourth of July fireworks mishap at a Long Island home that also injured three others, including a child. Toddler Dies After Being Pulled From Long Island Swimming Pool
A toddler has died after being pulled from a swimming pool on Long Island. Emergency crews in Islandia were called to a home on Sunflower Lane at around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, after a 2-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a pool.
