Hempstead Girl, 12, Located Hours After Going Missing A Long Island girl who was reported missing was located hours later. Heidy Tamatzin, 12, of Hempstead, had last been seen at around 11 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, according to Nassau County Police. She was reported missing early Tuesday, Feb. 4. Tamatzin has since been located, police said in an update Tuesday afternoon. No other details were given. Hit-Run Crash Leaves Woman Hospitalized In New Hyde Park Authorities are asking for the public’s help after a hit-and-run crash on Long Island left a woman hospitalized. The wreck happened in New Hyde Park, near the intersection of Union Turnpike and Lakeville Road, at around 7:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26. Nassau County Police said a 73-year-old woman was crossing in the intersection when she was struck by an unknown gray vehicle, possibly a Mercedes Benz. The vehicle did not stop and fled the scene. Alert Issued For Missing 15-Year-Old Girl From Hempstead Authorities are asking for help in locating a missing teenager from Long Island. Susan Staple, 15, was last seen leaving her Hempstead residence on Pine Street at around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, according to Nassau County Police. Staple is 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue jacket.
