Worker Airlifted Following Accident At Inwood Industrial Business
An employee was hospitalized following an accident at a Long Island industrial business. Emergency crews in Inwood were called to the Inwood Material Terminal located on Sheridan Boulevard shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17. Nassau County Police said a preliminary investigation found that a 49-year-old man fell off the platform of an excavator and landed on the ground. Medics at the scene treated the victim for back trauma before he was flown to a hospital. The man was conscious and alert throughout the ordeal, police said. The accident is under investigation.

One person was killed in a wrong-way crash on Long Island. It happened around 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, in Oyster Bay Cove. A 2022 Honda motorcycle was traveling southbound on Berry Hill Road in the vicinity of Northern Boulevard, according to Nassau County Police. A phone call claiming to protect a Long Island resident's savings ended in a $20,000 scam, according to authorities. The victim, a 69-year-old New Hyde Park woman, received the call from an unknown man who falsely identified himself as a Walmart employee, according to Nassau County Police. Police are trying to identify a man who urinated on the front porch of a Long Island home and shouted antisemitic obscenities. Burglar Sought After Stealing Cash From Long Island Business
Police are investigating after a burglar made off with over $1,000 from a Long Island business. The break-in happened in Oyster Bay at the Lee’s Laundromat on South Street sometime overnight Monday, Sept. 9. Nassau County Police said someone pried open a rear door before stealing approximately $1,500 in cash. They then fled in an unknown direction. No description of the suspect was given.
