Finger Cuts Prompt Recall Of Garlic Presses Sold At Popular Retailer
Tens of thousands of garlic presses are being recalled due to a defect that could lead to cuts or swallowed metal fragments. IKEA issued the recall for about 43,830 of its 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic presses, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, July 31. About 10,700 were also sold in Canada. Small metal pieces can detach from the garlic presses, creating risks of swallowing the fragments or being cut by them. IKEA is testing out a collaboration with Best Buy to sell some of its furniture at the electronics giant's stores. Best Buy and IKEA will begin a pilot program in the fall to have IKEA products in Best Buy locations, the chains announced in a joint news release on Thursday, July 31. Back-To-School 2025 Deals: More Families Shopping Early To Dodge Rising Prices
Most families are already hunting for back-to-school deals in the summer heat. Roughly two-thirds (67%) of families with children in kindergarten through 12th grade had started shopping by early July, according to the National Retail Federation. Flat-pack furniture and Swedish meatballs are finally making their way north. IKEA, the global home furnishings giant known for its maze-like showrooms and self-assembled furniture with Swedish names – and meatballs – will open its first upstate New York store in Syracuse, the company announced Tuesday, July 8.
