Black Bear Spotted In Rockland County Backyard Police are warning residents to watch for black bears after one was spotted in the backyard of a Hudson Valley home. The bear was spotted in Rockland County around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, at a home on Simkin Drive in New City.
