Nyack Man Nabbed In Undercover Online Predator Sting, Rockland DA Says A man is facing multiple charges after an online predator sting in the region. From Tuesday, April 30, through Sunday, Sept. 1 of this year, Robert Fidler age 66, of Nyack engaged in internet chats and attempted to arrange meetings with what he thought were two teenage girls, the Rockland County District Attorney's Office said. Police Asking Residents To Be 'Vigilant' After 3 Rockland County Home Burglaries Police in the Hudson Valley are asking residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity after three residential burglaries. The incidents occurred in Rockland County in the village of Montebello. The Ramapo Police Department reports it is investigating three recent residential burglaries in the Village of Montebello.  The department is asking for the public's assistance. 2-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Rockland County An investigation is underway after a 2-year-old girl was struck and killed by a van in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, on Calvert Drive in the village of Kaser in Ramapo. According to Ramapo Police Lt. Michael Gannon, responding officers found the child was struck by a 2014 Honda Odyssey and had sustained life-threatening injuries.  The girl was transported to Nyack Hospital by Hatzolah Ambulance and later died from her injuries, Gannon said. Duo Charged With Hate Crimes After Attacking UPS Driver In Rockland County Two men have been charged with alleged assault as a hate crime after attacking a UPS driver while using racial slurs and attempting to steal the keys to his vehicle. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, on Spook Rock Road in the village of Montebello. Hudson Valley Man Convicted Of Molesting Child A Hudson Valley man faces up to seven years in prison for sexually molesting a 9-year-old girl for three years. Rockland County resident, Elmer Oviedo-Sandoval, age 47, of Haverstraw, was convicted on Monday, Aug. 12, after a two week jury trial.
