Tappan Zee Bridge Toll Set To Increase: Here's When, How Much Drivers crossing the new Tappan Zee Bridge will soon face a higher toll, according to the New York State Thruway Authority. The increase will go into effect on Wednesday, Jan. 1, with a 50-cent hike to the base NY E-ZPass toll rates and tolls-by-mail that began in 2024 and will continue each year through 2027, when it hits $7.75. The annual price increase means E-Z pass users will begin paying $6.75 on New Year's Day. Traffic Stop On I-287: Critical Con Edison Work To Pause Both Directions In Greenburgh Motorists traveling on I-287 in Westchester County this weekend are being advised to expect delays as state police hold traffic in both directions for critical Con Edison work.  The 20-minute traffic stop will take place on the Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287) in the Town of Greenburgh at approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, according to the New York State Thruway Authority.  The brief traffic stoppage will allow Con Edison crews to install a fiber optic cable above the highway between two towers on either side of the expressway. Newly Renovated I-87 Service Area In Rockland County Reopened The New York State Thruway Authority announced the reopening of a newly renovated service area in Hudson Valley. The service area in Rockland County in Sloatsburg is on I-87 northbound between Exit 15A and Exit 16.  According to the State Thruway Authority, it is the 19th location overall to open and the first of four to undergo extensive renovations as part of the $450 million private investment to redevelop and modernize all 27 service areas.
