New Update: ID Released For 42-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Brentwood The identity has been released for a man struck and killed on a Long Island roadway. The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Friday, May 31, in Brentwood. Suffolk County Police said the man was crossing Wicks Road, just south of Merrill Street when he was struck by a southbound 2016 Honda CRV driven by a 58-year-old Bay Shore man. The man was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead. He's now been identified as Alvaro Amaya, age 42, of Brentwood. Long Island Expressway Fatal: Victim ID'd In 2-Vehicle Crash One driver was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash on an exit ramp from the Long Island Expressway. The deadly wreck happened at around 7 a.m. Friday, May 31, in Calverton, on the eastbound I-495 exit 71 ramp to Edwards Avenue. Suffolk County Police said a Hyundai sedan was attempting to make a left turn onto northbound Edwards Avenue when it was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck heading southbound.
