Seen Them? 15-, 17-Year-Old Girls From Riverhead Missing For Days
Authorities are asking for help in locating two Long Island teenagers who have been missing for several days.
Josselin Ordonez-Sanchez, age 15, and Meylin Garcia-Alvarado, age 17, both of Riverhead, were reported missing, according to the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse.
Ordonez-Sanchez was last seen on Thursday, Oct. 10. She was wearing a blue skirt, pink jacket, green shoes, and carrying a pink backpack. Her hair is dyed dark red.
Garcia-Alvarado was last seen on Sunday, Oct. 13. She was wearing a blue denim jacket, blue jeans, and sandals.

Fatal Crash: 21-Year-Old From East Hampton ID'd As Victim In Riverhead
One person was killed in a crash involving a pair of vehicles on a Long Island roadway.
It happened around 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 in Riverhead, near a Target on Old Country Road.
A 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R, operated by Christian Gutierrez, age 21, of East Hampton, struck another motorcycle, a 2006 Yamaha R6, operated by Rodolfo Castillo, age 54 of Southampton.
Gutierrez had numerous injuries and died at the scene, Riverhead Police said.

Copiague, Riverhead Teens Have Been Missing Over Month
It’s now been over a month since relatives last saw these Long Island teenagers.
Authorities in Suffolk County are asking for help in locating Celina Hernandez, age 17, of Copiague, and Sincere Brown, age 16, of Riverhead.
Hernandez was reported missing on Wednesday, Aug. 28, and is believed to be with her 3-month-old son, Angel. She was last seen wearing a beige tank top and gray jeans.
Brown was last seen on Monday, Sept. 2. He is believed to be with a male companion, Matthew Lopez, who is also missing, police said.

Wyandanch Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge After Shooting Outside Islandia Casino
A local man has been indicted for shooting a victim twice at close range in the parking lot of a Long Island casino.
The incident happened on Friday, May 31, at approximately 10:15 p.m. in Islandia.
Nashawn Legros, age 24, of Wyandanch, was indicted for attempted murder, assault, and other related charges, for the incident at Jake’s 58 Casino, causing the victim serious physical injuries.
According to court filings, Legros was in a parked vehicle when he observed the victim walking toward the casino entrance.

Two Long Island businesses were cited for allegedly selling alcohol to minors.
Compliance checks were conducted at 19 retail vendors throughout the Town of Riverhead on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
The operation targeted the sale of alcohol products to patrons under the age of 21.

25-Year-Old From Shirley Drove Drunk With Girl In SUV On Riverhead Roadway: Police
A Long Island man has been accused of driving drunk with a child inside an SUV overnight.
The incident happened around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, in Riverhead, in the area of East Avenue and East Main Street.
Upon investigation, the operator of a 2012 GMC Acadia, identified as Tony Garcia-Rivera, age 25, of Shirley, was found to be intoxicated and had a 15-year-old girl inside of his vehicle, the Riverhead Town Police Department said.

One person was killed in a head-on crash on Long Island.
It happened around 11:45 a.m. Friday, July 19, in Suffolk County on Main Road, east of Union Avenue in Aquebogue.
A 2018 BMW, operated by New York City resident Anthony Croce, age 65, of Brooklyn, collided head-on with a 2002 Nissan, operated by Matthew Schramm, age 67, of Huntington Station, Riverhead Police said.
Schramm, who suffered extensive injuries, was rushed to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

The incident occurred in Riverhead around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at Osborn Avenue and Lincoln Street.
According to Riverhead Police, officers responded to a report of a 2006 Acura sedan driving at a high rate of speed, putting other drivers at risk.
