A months-long investigation has led to the arrest of a man who is accused of forcibly touching a woman at a Long Island Stop & Shop. Nassau County Police say the suspect was apprehended late Monday afternoon, Oct. 14, in Uniondale. 15-Year-Old Long Island Girl Has Been Missing For 5 Days
Authorities are asking for help in locating a Long Island teenager who has been missing for several days. Nathalie Sevilla, age 15, was last seen leaving her Lawrence residence at around 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. Relatives contacted Nassau County Police on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Sevilla is 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Her clothing description and possible destination were not immediately available. A brother and sister from Long Island are accused of abusing their elderly mother to the point the woman died. Nassau County Police were called to a Roosevelt home at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, to perform a welfare check. Inside, officers found 85-year-old Carmel McDougall unresponsive. She was taken to a hospital and died days later, on Wednesday, Sept. 18. It appears tourists just can’t get enough of Long Island. Travelers spent a record-breaking $7.5 billion across Nassau and Suffolk counties in 2023, according to data from New York State’s annual Tourism Economics report. A suspect has been apprehended after a fatal shooting in broad daylight outside a Long Island residence. It happened around 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 in Brentwood. Joshua E. Jasmin, age 30, of North Babylon, was transported via Brentwood Legion Ambulance to South Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
