It happened just after 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25,  in Lynbrook. Nassau County Police said a 70-year-old man was operating a white 2018 Nissan Sentra as an Uber driver with a 26-year-old male passenger westbound on Sunrise Highway when he struck a white 2012 Audi operated by a 37-year-old man traveling westbound at Atlantic Avenue. Driver Killed After SUV Crashes Into House On Long Island A driver was killed after an SUV crashed into a house on Long Island overnight. It happened just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 in Baldwin. Nassau County Police said a 49-year-old man was driving a 2013 Hyundai Tucson eastbound on Grand Terrace Avenue when his vehicle left the roadway.  The SUV struck a fence and then a home at 917 Grand Terrace Ave., causing exterior damage. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician.  His name has not yet been released. Resident Dies After Blaze Breaks Out At Baldwin Home One person died after a fire broke out at a Long Island home. Nassau County Police say detectives were conducting an investigation in Baldwin on Talmadge Drive when they saw smoke emanating from a residence at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 11. The detectives entered the home to search for any occupants until they were driven back by heavy smoke, heat, and flames.  Officers from the Emergency Services Unit (ESU) and Baldwin Fire Department members were able to make entry later inside and located an adult man with extensive burns.  He was removed and transported to a nearby hospit…
