Edgar Nova Lopez, 29, of Riverhead, was arrested on multiple sex crimes charges on Tuesday, Feb. 25, following an investigation by New York State Police.
A doctor contacted the agency in December 2024 stating they were performing a routine annual exam when the girl disclosed she had been sexually abused by Lopez, a family friend, police said.
An investigation determined that over a four-month period, Lopez made the girl watch pornography, perform the pornographic acts that they watched, and sexually abused the child, according to police.
Lopez is charged with sexual conduct and sex abuse, both felonies. He was arraigned in Riverhead Town Court and held on $800,000 bond.
