A man is accused of assaulting a police officer following a car crash on Long Island. The incident happened in Bellmore, near the intersection of Bellmore Avenue and Merrick Road, shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14. Woman Attacked By Dog At Long Island Home
A woman is recovering after being attacked by a dog on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Elmont. Nassau County Police officers responding to the Newburgh Street residence found the 81-year-old had suffered multiple lacerations to various parts of her body. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. She is currently listed in stable condition. A man has died from injuries several days after a hit-and-run crash on Long Island. A young girl was seriously injured in a dog attack that also hurt two women on Long Island. Emergency crews were called to a Hicksville residence on Lantern Road for a dog bite at around 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15. A 21-year-old man is accused of burglarizing a Long Island home. Nassau County Police were called about a break-in at an Inwood residence on Wahl Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2.
