In Syosset, the corner of Florence and Edward avenues was officially rededicated as Detective Lieutenant Christopher Cizmarik Way on Thursday, Aug. 29. The identities have been released for five family members who were killed in a murder-suicide in a residential Long Island community. The incident happened just before noon on Sunday, Aug. 25 at a residence on a cul-de-sac in Syosset. Suspect At Large After Man Shot In Face In Broad Daylight In Syosset
A suspect is on the loose after a shooting in broad daylight on Long Island. It happened around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in Syosset near 225 Underhill Blvd. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 34-year-old man had sustained a gunshot wound to the face, Nassau County Police said. A man has been charged with multiple counts of burglary after he allegedly broke into several Long Island homes, stealing thousands of dollars worth of items. Vincent Dougherty, age 64, faced his arraignment on Wednesday, May 15, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.
