The ticket was purchased in West Hempstead, at the Stop & Go store located at 485 Hempstead Turnpike, for the drawing held Saturday, Aug. 31. TAKE 5 drawings are held twice daily, at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Players can check their ticket status on the New York Lottery website.

Drunk Teen Who Killed 6-Year-Old 'Bright Light' On Long Island Sentenced To Prison
A 19-year-old man will spend years behind bars for a drunk driving crash that killed a young Long Island girl two days before her birthday. Jorge Bonilla Gutierrez, of Freeport, was sentenced to six to 12 years in prison in Nassau County Court on Monday, Aug. 5, in the death of Katerine Vanegas Hernandez. Bike-Riding Suspect Injures 5 Officers During Long Island Arrest, Police Say
A Long Island man is accused of injuring several police officers during an arrest. The incident happened at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25, in West Hempstead. Nassau County Police said officers were called to a restaurant on Hempstead Turnpike for a disturbance involving a man and woman. A witness told police that 27-year-old Luis Taborda Corrales, got into an argument with a 26-year-old woman that escalated before he fled on a bicycle.
