Long Island House Fire Leaves Family Dog Dead A house fire on Long Island left a dog dead. The blaze began at about 4 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 on Seaman Road in Jericho. Responders arrived to find the home engulfed in flames from the second floor and heavy smoke throughout.  All residents made it out safely, though the family’s dog was found dead inside.  The Nassau County PD Arson Bomb Squad and the Nassau County Fire Marshal are investigating. Firefighters from Jericho, with assistance from Syosset, Hicksville, Westbury, Plainview, Bethpage, South Farmingdale, Glenwood, and Carle Place, responded and extinguished the fire.

3 Firefighters Injured Battling Blaze On Long Island Police are investigating the cause of a Long Island fire that injured multiple firefighters. It happened on the evening of Monday, June 3 in Hicksville, according to Nassau County Police. At approximately 7 p.m., a fire broke out at Omega Auto Body, located at 16 Jerusalem Avenue. When officers and the Hicksville Fire Department arrived at the scene to battle the blaze, flames were pouring out of the building.
