M&M's has created a contest for the sleepover experience at its flagship New York City store, Mars Inc. said in a news release on Wednesday, Feb. 26. The giveaway celebrates the launch of the brand's new rewards program called M&M's Fun Club.
The winner and four guests will enjoy personalized glamping setups, nostalgic sleepover activities, and an exclusive M&M's Fun Club flavor mix — only available during the event.
"Our M&M's fans are some of the most fun, loyal, and creative people, so we created the M&M's Fun Club to give them a place to enjoy our delicious products, score sweet rewards and prizes, and most importantly, celebrate the power of fun," said Gabrielle Wesley, Chief Marketing Officer for Mars Wrigley North America. "We're delighted to kick off the M&M's Fun Club with a one-of-a-kind experience like the M&M's store sleepover, to give fans a taste of the unique experiences, products, and exciting prizes the brand has in-store."
This isn't your average sleepover. The night includes an after-hours shopping spree, sweet treats, and even a visit from a "spokescandy" — the iconic characters seen in commercials and on packaging worldwide.
M&M's World opened in Times Square in 2006. The three-story store has 25,000 square feet of fun for fans of chocolate and candy.
A candy printer was installed in 2012, allowing customers to personalize their M&M's with images and custom messages. The options include many New York symbols like the Statue of Liberty, sports team logos, and the "I Love NY" phrase.
Fans who sign up for the M&M's Fun Club by Wednesday, Mar. 19 will be automatically entered for a chance to win the sleepover. Members can boost their odds by completing challenges or referring friends.
M&M's has six other major stores worldwide.
