Red Light Camera Program To Be Extended On Long Island
To protect motorists on New York roads, Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced the creation of a new red light camera program in the Hudson Valley and the expansion of other initiatives across the state. In an announcement on Wednesday, Oct. 23, Hochul revealed that she signed legislation to extend several existing red light camera programs in Westchester, Albany, and Nassau counties. It happened just before 4 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, in Westbury. A gray 2006 Chrysler Sebring was traveling eastbound on Old Country Road when it struck a bicyclist near the intersection of State Street. The driver of the vehicle, Wilfredo Blanco Molina, age 41, of Hicksville, fled the scene and continued to drive eastbound on Old Country Road, Nassau County Police said. An investigation is underway after a fatal stabbing death of a man at a party overnight at a Long Island residence. It happened around 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct, 27, in Huntington Station. Two workers suffered injuries after a car crash into a Long Island business. It happened around 12:10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, in North Merrick. A 24-year-old woman driving a 2019 Dodge Charger, was involved in a collision with a 2019 Jeep Cherokee being operated by a 71-year-old woman, Nassau County Police said. A Long Island resident has been accused of intentionally striking another woman with her vehicle. The incident happened around 3:40 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in North Bellport.
