New Survey Reveals What Diners Say About Kids, Dogs In Restaurants
Diners are showing more interest in adults-only and dog-friendly restaurants, according to a new study.
Younger consumers are also driving demand for protein-packed menus, health-focused ingredients, and family-style meals, Lightspeed Commerce said in its State of Hospitality 2026 report. The survey included people in the US, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

A New Jersey woman is suing a town and its police department, claiming officials released unredacted video last year showing her exposed breast while she was in police custody, leading to the footage being viewed hundreds of thousands of times online (lawsuit attached at the bottom of this news article).

An accused child predator from Pennsylvania was arrested on Long Island, authorities said Friday, Aug. 7.
Shane Michael Rossi, 40, of Nazareth, PA, was wanted for felony unlawful contact with a minor, the Nassau County Police Department said.
Rossi was arrested back on Jan. 27 following an investigation by the Nazareth Police Department, authorities said. He was accused of sending “multiple inappropriate messages and explicit images” to a victim.

A Long Island man found with fentanyl, xylazine, and explosives in his home is headed to prison.
Anthony Gianatiempo, 35, of Westbury, was sentenced Friday, Aug. 7 to six years behind bars after pleading guilty to selling drugs and attempted weapons possession, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office said.
Gianatiempo sold $820 worth of cocaine, fentanyl, ketamine, heroin, and alprazolam (Xanax) to a person in Cantiague Park on June 18, 2025, according to the district attorney’s office.

A New York City man who broke into a Dunkin’ Donuts on Long Island was arrested following a struggle with cops, authorities said.
Senai Haywood, 25, of Jamaica, Queens, entered the store on Hillside Avenue in Williston Park around 10:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, the Nassau County Police Department said.
