A woman was critically injured after being struck by a car while crossing a busy Hudson Valley roadway. The incident took place around 5:15 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, on Western Highway between Grand Avenue and Cedar Street in the Rockland County hamlet of Tappan. According to Sgt. Joesph Sullivan, of the Orangetown Police, a 2013 Volvo S80 driven by a 64-year-old man from Tappan was traveling southbound on Western Hwy when he struck an 86- year-old woman who was crossing Western Highway on foot. Man Charged With Drunk Driving After Audi Crashes Into Pole In Area, Police Say
A 68-year-old man was allegedly intoxicated when he drove his Audi through a fence and came to a stop after striking a utility pole in Rockland County, police said. Officers from the Orangetown Police Department responded to Western Highway near Schreiber Street in Tappan at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, where there was a report of a crash. A 30-year-old man is facing felony DWI charges after police say he crashed into a guardrail while driving in Rockland. Orangetown Police say they responded to a report of a single-car accident in the area of 201 Western Highway in the hamlet of Tappan on Saturday, Aug. 17 around 11:15 p.m. On-scene investigation revealed that a 2000 Toyota Celica had sustained front end damage after the driver, identified as Accer Crisostomo, 30, of Orangeburg, strayed from the road and hit a guardrail, according to police. Speeding Stop Results In DWI Charge For Pearl River Man
A Rockland County motorist is facing a DWI and a drug charge after being stopped for speeding on Western Highway in Tappan. Members of the Orangetown Police Department stopped 31-year-old Pearl River resident Michael O’Keefe at approximately 10 p.m. on Wednesday Aug. 1, when he was spotted by a patrol officer driving well above the posted speed limit in the area. Police said that during the traffic stop, it was determined that O’Keefe was found to be driving while intoxicated, and he was in possession of marijuana. The man, identified as Arian Hila of Dumont was working at a construction site at 120 Western Highway when he crushed around 1:45 p.m. Friday when a garbage chute collapsed and landed on top of him near a dumpster, said Orangetown Police Capt.
