The report was compiled by Neighborhood Scout and considered each city in America that has 25,000 people or more.  The rankings determined the top 100 most dangerous cities based on the number of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Violent crimes include armed robbery, aggravated assault, rape and murder. Three Sentenced For Murder Of Area Teen The members of a Middletown gang calling itself "Coke Wave," were sentenced to state prison for the shooting death of a man in a rival gang. The three were sentenced by Orange County Court Judge William DeProspo in connection with August 17, 2017, shooting death of Coree White in the City of Middletown. The woman was attacked in the area of College Avenue and 1st Street in Nanuet sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday, to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, said Clarkstown PD Officer Peter Walker. Shooting Victim In Critical Condition, Poughkeepsie Police Say A 27-year-old man shot during a dispute on Main Street is in critical condition, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. The shooting took place around 6:37 p.m. Sunday, July 1 at 644 Main St., said Det. Sgt. Sean Fitzgerald.   The unidentified man was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital in a private car with serious injuries and underwent surgery, Fitzgerald said.  Early Monday, the man was listed in critical but stable condition. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the tip line at 845-451-7577.
