Car Engulfed In Flames On Parkway In Hudson Valley
A vehicle fire prompted an early morning response on the Taconic State Parkway. The blaze happened on Saturday, Oct. 19 around 8:30 a.m. in Northern Westchester, when an SUV caught on fire on the southbound side in Hawthorne. Arriving fire crews soon found the vehicle consumed by flames and quickly hosed it down, putting the blaze out completely. The response took around an hour and sent plumes of smoke up into the air on the parkway, as seen in images of the fire released on the Hawthorne Fire Department's social media page. No injuries were reported.

Vehicle Catches On Fire On New Tappan Zee Bridge, Impacts Traffic
A vehicle fire impacted traffic on the new Tappan Zee Bridge off the shore of Westchester County. The blaze happened on Thursday, Aug. 22 just before 11 a.m., when a truck caught on fire in the northbound lanes of I-87 on the bridge near the Tarrytown shore, according to the New York State Thruway Authority. The incident temporarily caused the left lane to be completely blocked. Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Northern Westchester Roadway
Smoke was seen on a busy main route in Northern Westchester when a vehicle went up in flames. The incident happened on Saturday, May 11 around 1:40 p.m., when a car caught on fire on Route 9 southbound in Croton-on-Hudson just south of the pedestrian bridge. According to the village's fire department, the blaze began in the vehicle's engine compartment and was quickly put out. The car was removed from the road after around an hour. No injuries were reported.

21-Year-Old Killed In Fiery Westchester Crash
Police are investigating a fiery fatal crash in Westchester County. It happened around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, July 17 on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh. Responders were dispatched to mile marker 5.6 northbound for a report of a crash with a vehicle engulfed in flames. Greenburgh Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived prior to state troopers but were unable to extricate the victim, Paul A. Fitzpatrick, age 21, of Yonkers. A 34-year-old man was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash. It happened around 11:20 a.m., Monday, Sept. 6, in Dutchess County on Route 9G in Red Hook. The man was driving a 1986 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Route 9G approaching the Rokeby Road intersection when he was hit by an Irvington woman driving a 2011 Toyota passenger car who failed to yield the right of way, according to the Red Hook Police. Seven cars got burned nearly as bad as the New York Jets during Sunday's East Rutherford game against the Minnesota Vikings.
