A 33-year-old man from the region has been nabbed for allegedly smashing windows and stealing property from vehicles. Sullivan County resident Philip A. Jacobs, age 33, of Monticello was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 15, following an investigation into numerous break-ins. According to Lt. Mark Johnstone of the Monticello Polie, Jacobs was arrested following an investigation into multiple complaints received by the department of vehicles being broken into and then property stolen throughout the Village of Monticello. Police Issue Alert After String Of Car Break-Ins In Area
Law enforcement agencies in the area are cautioning residents to be on high alert following a string of thefts from parked vehicles. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert over the weekend as it investigates multiple larcenies from parked cars that happened late on Friday, July 23 into Saturday, July 24. Police said that the vehicles that were targeted were parked in driveways on South Parliman Road, Darren Road, Oakbrook Lane, Brookside Lane, and Rose Court in the Town of Union Vale. Police Release Video Of Suspect Who Attempted To Enter Vehicles In Rockland
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who was caught on camera multiple times breaking into vehicles in the Hudson Valley. Investigators in Rockland County from the Orangetown Police Department issued an alert cautioning that between 2:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, a man was caught on several Ring cameras breaking into cars or checking on door handles. Video: Suspects On Loose After String Of Overnight Car Break-Ins In Ramapo
The Ramapo Police Department is investigating multiple robberies from vehicles parked in the overnight hours in recent days. Investigators said that two or three men have been breaking into parked cars between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., entering unlocked vehicles or breaking windows to gain access to the interior. Items such as bags, wallets, cash and electronics have been taken in the recent larcenies.
