Man Nabbed For More Than A Dozen Area Residential Burglaries, Police Say
A 30-year-old Ulster County man has been arrested for more than a dozen burglaries over several months.
Eric J. Morgan, of Modena, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 25, following a lengthy joint investigation.
The probe was conducted by the Town of Lloyd Police, the Town New Paltz Police, the Town of Plattekill Police, the Town of Marlborough Police, and the New York State Police.

Man Threatens Ex-Girlfriend With Box Cutter In Area, Police Say
A 50-year-old man threatened his ex-girlfriend with a box cutter in her home, police said.
On Friday, Sept. 17 at approximately 6 p.m., Ulster County resident Alan W. Ocasio, of Ellenville, a.k.a. "Ali Baba," repeatedly threatened his ex-girlfriend with the weapon, and fled on foot when she called police, according to the Ellenville Police Department.
He was reportedly located by police on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 27.
Ocasio was charged with the felonies of:

Driver In Fatal Area Crash Caught Trying To Escape Out Of State, Police Say
An area resident who was charged with vehicular manslaughter after crashing into a utility pole and killing his passenger was arrested, then caught planning an escape to another state, said police.
Ulster County resident Daniel Kellogg, of Saugerties, 22, reportedly crashed his 2000 Honda Accord into a utility pole on Route 9W in the area of the Sunoco at nearly 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22.

Man Jailed After Repeatedly Violating Order Of Protection, Police Say
A 51-year-old man was arrested for allegedly repeatedly violating an order of protection by visiting the victim.
Ulster County resident Donald E. Degroat, of the Town of Saugerties, was arrested after Saugerties Police responded to a domestic violence call on Sunday, April 19.
According to police, the victim called police to report that Degroad was on the scene and had allegedly repeatedly violated an order of protection, said Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra.
Degroat fled before police arrived, but was located on Monday, April 20, and taken into custody, Sinagra said.

Area Man Arrested Twice In Hours Under New Bail Reform
A man who was arrested for an alleged domestic dispute that ended with an officer injured was arrested again within 20 minutes after court under new bail reform laws.
The incident began around 7:20 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, when New Paltz responded to a home on Colonial Drive for a report of a domestic assault, said New Platz Police Lt. Robert Lucchesi.

Two Area Residents Accused Of Selling Tainted Heroin
Two Highland residents are behind bars after being popped for allegedly selling heroin laced with Fentanyl.
Casey A. Kurtz, 27, and Kyla Knowlton-Romanelli, 30, were arrested Friday, Oct. 11, following a long-term investigation by the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team into sales of heroin laced with Fentanyl in the Town of Lloyd, said the Ulster County Sheriff's Office.
