ID Released For 23-Year-Old Killed In Crash On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway
State police have released the identity of a Hudson Valley man killed in a crash with a tree truck on a busy roadway. The crash took place in Orange County in the town of Tuxedo on Old Route 17 around 7:30 a.m., Monday, April 18, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Ahkem Chu III, age 23, of Chester, was driving a 2007 Honda Accord southbound on Old Route 17 when for unknown reasons he crossed over into the northbound lane and struck a tree truck that was fully loaded, Nevel said. Juvenile Charged After Threat Causes Lockdown At School District In Area
An investigation into threatening emails targeting a Hudson Valley high school led to a felony charge for a minor who is suspected of making terroristic threats. On Wednesday, Feb. 2, state and local police in Orange County launched an investigation into a series of emails that were received by the George F. Baker High School of the Tuxedo Union Free School District threatening violence. Part-Time Cop Leaves Force After Facebook Post About Bombing Kiryas Joel
A part-time police officer for the Town of Tuxedo Police Department is no longer with the department after allegedly making a racist comment on Facebook regarding bombing Kiryas Joel. According to a post from Kiryas Joel school Superintendent Joel Petlinl, the former officer posted a statement, saying "drop a daisy cutter right in KJ," to his personal Facebook account. A daisy cutter is a large bomb used by the military.
