Northern Westchester Pair Among Those Charged With DWI Over Weekend With local and state police agencies cracking down on drunk, drugged and distracted driving, several local residents were among nearly two dozen in the area who found themselves on the wrong side of the law over the weekend. As part of the STOP-DWI Independence Day week-long crackdown, State Police troopers busted several motorists for driving while intoxicated as they attempt to stop motorists from drinking and driving in the area. Car Slams Into Popular Dog Daycare Business In Mahopac Luckily no dogs, or humans, were hurt when a car slammed into the front of Pawsitively Petastic on Route 6 in Mahopac. The crash happened around 10 a.m. Wednesday when a person who had just dropped off their pet at the popular dog hotel and daycare drove into the front of the building at 395 Route 6, said the owner, Lia Herlihy. "They said their brakes were sticking and they couldn't stop in time," Herlihy said. "Thank goodness no was injured and no dogs were in the area."
