New $5M Roundabout Hopes To Smooth Traffic On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway
Motorists will find a new roundabout in the Hudson Valley that is meant to make traffic flow smoother to and from Route 376. The roundabout, located in Dutchess County, in the town of Wappinger, has been completed as part of a $5.8 million project that modernized the intersection of Route 376 with New Hackensack Road and All Angels Hill Road, according to the state Department of Transportation. 1 Killed In Head-On Crash Between BMW, Pickup Truck In Hudson Valley
A man was killed during a head-on collision in the Hudson Valley. The crash took place in Dutchess County at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 in East Fishkill just north of Robinson Lane and Lake Walton Road. When officers arrived, there was a black Dodge Ram and a blue BMW in the southbound lane, both with significant damage and one driver with serious injuries, said the East Fishkill Police. The driver of the BMW, a 64-year-old Poughkeepsie man, was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where he died from his injuries, police said. Police said a preliminary investigation revealed …

Fatal Crash Causes Hours-Long Closure On Taconic Parkway
This story has been updated. A stretch of the Taconic State Parkway was closed throughout the morning commute following a fatal crash. The closure was southbound in Hopewell Junction between Route 29/Carpenter Road and Route 52. The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, but the lanes remained closed until around 10:30 a.m. during the accident investigation. East Fishkill Fire Department's Roof Ripped Off By Wind Gusts
A large copper roof was ripped off the Hopewell Hose Fire Company firehouse by high winds that kept firefighters and police busy all afternoon with emergency calls. No one was injured when the roof at the East Fishkill firehouse off Route 376 came off around 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 but despite the damage, the department said they are still responding to calls. A high-speed chase broke out in East Fishkill, as police officers attempted to apprehend a suspect who allegedly stole a car in Dutchess County before attempting to flee on a bicycle. 28-Year-Old Overdose Victim Saved After Hudson Valley Crash
A man overdosing on opioids was saved by first responders after he lost control of his car and crashed into another vehicle. The incident took place Sunday afternoon when Cameron J. Petersen, 28, of Poughkeepsie, was driving westbound on Route 376 in the Town of Poughkeepsie when he crossed over into oncoming traffic near Red Oaks Mill Road and hit a vehicle with two people inside, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. A 27-year-old Wappinger man is behind bars after fleeing the scene of a fatal crash that occurred on Route 376 in the Town of Wappinger on Saturday night, Feb. 17, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said. The crash occurred near Maloney Road at about 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, Dutchess County sheriff's deputies discovered 71-year-old Anita Duncan of Hopewell Junction trapped in her vehicle.
