Video: Tree Limb Crashes Onto Wires On Route 306 Amid Gusty Winds After Storm
Route 306 had to be temporarily closed in Ramapo during the wind storm when a tree limb crashed onto wires, sending sparks flying. On Thursday, Oct. 17, the Ramapo Police Department closed Route 306 between Viola Road and Fessler Drive while Orange and Rockland Utility crews made repairs to wires that were arching after a tree limb toppled them. The incident caused outages in the area for approximately 30 minutes while the repairs were being made. Wind gusts of nearly 60 mph sent tree limbs flying and toppled power lines throughout the area. Monsey School Bus Crash Injures One, Closes Part Of Route 306
Police are currently on the scene of a crash on Route 306 in Monsey involving a car and an unoccupied school bus. Police said the crash took place around 9 a.m., Monday, May 20, on Route 306 just north of Viola Road, said the Ramapo Police. Police said it appears that the driver of a sedan crossed over the double yellow line and crashed into the bus. Car Fire, Downed Trees Cause Road Closures In Rockland
This story has been updated. One roadway remains closed and two others that had been shut down have reopened in Rockland County Saturday afternoon, March 16. Route 202 reopened at 1:45 p.m. between Old Route 202 and Route 306 after being closed due to a car fire. Also in Ramapo, Camp Hill Road, between White Birch and Pomona Road remains closed due to damage from the quick moving thunderstorm Friday night, March 15. Electrical Fire Shuts Down Stretch Of Lime Kiln Road
An electrical fire on a utility pole has shut down a portion of Lime Kiln Road.The Ramapo Police Department said they are on the scene of the fire along with the Hillcrest Fire Department at Lime Kiln Road near Route 306. O&R Utilities is enroute. Motorists are asked to avoid the area. Power is reportedly out to several homes in the area. It is not known how long it will take to restore it.

Three Face DWI Charges After Separate Weekend Crashes In Ramapo
It was two days, three crashes and three DWI arrests for police in Ramapo over the weekend. Officers from the Ramapo Police Department responded to three separate crashes over the weekend, each of which involved a driver who was allegedly intoxicated. At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, officers responded to a three-car crash with injuries at the intersection of Route 202 and Route 306. Injuries Reported In Rockland School Bus Crash
Two drivers suffered injuries after a car and school bus collided in Rockland County. Ramapo police said the crash occurred around 9:10 a.m. Monday in the area of 399 Route 306 in the Village of Wesley Hills. The school bus was not occupied by students and both the driver of the bus and the other vehicle sustained minor injuries, police said. Route 306 was closed while the vehicles were removed but has reopened.

Alert Issued For Road Resurfacing In Rockland
Motorists planning on traveling through Ramapo over the weekend may expect delays as contracting crews get set to begin a road resurfacing project. The Rockland County Highway Department issued an alert on Wednesday advising that beginning at 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 11, roadwork will be performed along Grandview Avenue from Forshay Road to Route 306. Many in the Hudson Valley are mourning the death of the man who was believed to be the world's oldest rabbi. Monsey residents can expect road closures and heavy traffic as thousands gather early Friday afternoon for the funeral of Rabbi Mordechai Hager, who died at the age of 95.
