Man Charged With Attempted Murder For Fire At Rockland Home With 12 People Inside
A 39-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly intentionally setting fire to a home with 12 people inside at the time of the blaze.
Hector Munoz-Zuleta of Spring Valley was arrested and charged with attempted murder, arson, and reckless endangerment, following an investigation of the fire that took place around 2:50 a.m., Friday, June 21, at 8 Jay St., said Spring Valley Police Officer Matthew Galli.
At the time of the fire, there were approximately 12 people in the house, including two children ages 8 and 4; all made it out safely, Galli said.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with a fatal crash that killed a 22-year-old Rockland County resident.
Jarret June, of Fort Carson, Colorado, was arrested on Saturday, May 25, and charged with vehicular manslaughter, reckless endangerment, two counts of DWI, and reckless driving, following the crash that left Nicholas Keefer of Stony Point dead, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Hylas.
Stony Point officers responded to the crash around 3:40 a.m., Saturday, May 25, on Beach Road in Stony Point, said Hylas.

Woman Severely Injured After Being Struck By Car Crossing Route 9W During Downpour
A 40-year-old woman was severely injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 9W during a heavy downpour.
The accident took place around 6:50 p.m., Thursday, May 2, while the woman, a resident of Piermont, was crossing the highway near Highland Avenue, said Piermont Police Chief Michael O'Shea.
O'Shea said the woman was hit by a man who was driving north on Route 9W. The woman landed on the vehicle's hood and almost went through the windshield, the chief said.
She received severe head trauma, broken bones in her arms and legs, and numerous other injuries, O'Shea added.
