Police In Hudson Valley Search For Car Thieves Who Crashed Into Police Cruiser Police in the Hudson Valley are searching for suspects in a robbery that led to a police chase.  The incident took place in Rockland County around midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 30 on Red Schoolhouse Road in Chestnut Ridge.  Ramapo Police responded to 240 Red Schoolhouse Road (Manheim Distributors) for two suspicious vehicles parked outside and people walking inside the fenced-in parking lot wearing masks, said Det. New Update: School Bus Crash Injures 7 Students, Driver In Hudson Valley, Police Say Police are investigating a school bus crash in the Hudson Valley that sent seven children and the bus driver to the hospital. The crash took place in Rockland County around 9 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, on north South Gate Drive in the village of New Hempstead. The bus, operated by the Ribnitzer schools, had 22 people onboard including the driver at the time of the crash, said Capt. Daniel Hyman of the Ramapo Police. The incident took place in Rockland County on Friday, Oct. 21 in Hillcrest. According to the Ramapo Police, officers responded to a home in the Hillcrest section of the town for a domestic dispute.  Upon arrival, it was learned that the man had left the scene, but an investigation revealed that the man had assaulted the woman while he was holding their infant child, police said. Hudson Valley Man Accused Of Embezzling Nearly $100K From Soccer Club Following a six-month investigation, a Hudson Valley man has been charged with allegedly embezzling some $100,000 from a soccer club. According to the Ramapo Police, a 35-year-old Hillburn resident was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. The department said the charges allege that between 2020 and 2022, the man embezzled more than $95,000 from the Ramapo Valley Soccer Club. The person charged was not named by the Ramapo Police Department. He was arraigned and released without bail and is scheduled to appear in court in November.

18-Year-Old Shot Walking Down Street In Hudson Valley, Police Say Police are investigating after an 18-year-old was shot in the leg while walking down a street in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County just after 1 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5 in the hamlet of Hillcrest. According to Det. Lt. Rockland County resident Rolando DeJesus Gomez-Velazquez, age 32, of Hillcrest, was arrested following an investigation into the incident which took place on Friday, June 17. 4-Month-Old Boy Found Dead At Area Home, Police Say Police are investigating after a 4-month boy was found dead at a home in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Rockland County in Monsey on Wednesday, Jan. 19, according to Det. Sgt. The fire, which started around 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12, in Rockland County at 83 Lafayette Ave., in Suffern, has closed the roadway from Chestnut Street to Washington Avenue, said the Ramapo Police. Fast-Moving Fire Destroys Home, Vehicles In Hudson Valley Three residents were treated for smoke inhalation after a fast-moving fire destroyed their Hudson Valley home and two vehicles. The Rockland County fire started around 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, in the Town of Ramapo at 987 Haverstraw Road in the village of Wesley Hills. According to Det. Sgt. Michael Higgins, of the Ramapo Police, the family was able to escape the flames but were treated at an area hospital for smoke inhalation.
