DWI Franklin Driver Nearly Hits Officer Conducting Traffic Stop
A 32-year-old Franklin man was charged with a DWI after nearly hitting a borough police officer conducting a traffic stop, authorities said. The officer was getting out of his patrol car during the Taylor Road stop around 10:45 p.m. Friday when he noticed another car with several violations, Franklin police said in a news release. Residents say they have been contacted by telephone by someone who claims to be a representative with Orange & Rockland Utilities, police say. Police Cruiser Involved In Crash With Motorcycle In Rockland
A police department vehicle was involved in a crash with a motorcycle in Rockland County. The crash occurred 9:30 p.m. on Route 45 in Hillcrest, just north of Williams Avenue in Hillcrest, the Ramapo Police Department said. The motorcyclist was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition. The police officer was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. He was treated and released, the department said. The Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit is investigating. No further information was available from police.

Police Warning: Man Exposes Genitals To Exercisers On Trail In Rockland
Police are warning residents who use a popular trail in Rockland to be on the lookout for a man who has exposed his genitals to joggers on two occasions. The department received a report of the first incident around 11:30 a.m. on June 29, when a jogger was north on Hader Trail between the villages of South Nyack and Piermont, said Chief Daniel Wilson. Police in the area are cautioning local residents to be wary of a new phone scam that has been making the rounds. Last week, police officials found that they received multiple calls from area residents who received phone calls threatening to suspend their social security number if cash isn’t paid to the caller.
