A 15-year-old River Vale boy was found Friday afternoon, more than 36 hours after he'd gone missing. Alex Falkoff turned up in Park Ridge, Police Chief Sean Scheidle said. ****** R.I.P.: John Inserra, 48, was married with three young children. Driver Dead, SUV Found In Hackensack River In River Vale
A popular Hillsdale firefighter was found dead in his SUV Thursday in the upper Hackensack River in River Vale, the apparent victim of a heart attack. John Inserra, 48, was married with three young children -- two boys and a girl. He coached and was extremely active in local youth sports, including softball and wrestling. Police: Bergen Worker Caught Spitting In Officers’ Coffee
An employee at a Park Ridge Starbucks was caught spitting into police officers’ orders, authorities said. Kevin Trejo, 21, of Westwood was arrested Monday and charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer with bodily fluid, tampering and creating a hazardous condition, Police Chief Joseph Madden said. Authorities “received information that an employee of a local coffee shop was spitting in the drinks of law enforcement that patronized the establishment,” Madden said. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who they said robbed banks in Pomona and Park Ridge earlier this year by claiming to have a bomb. In the earlier holdup, the robber held up a Chase Bank branch in the Pacesetter Shopping Center on Route 202 in Pomona on Jan. 24 while carrying a box that he claimed contained explosives, the FBI said. A Rockland County-bound train experiencing mechanical problems delayed 25 passengers at the Park Ridge station Tuesday, NJ Transit officials said. Passengers on Pascack Valley Line train #1613 were transferred to the Montvale station after their 1:32 p.m. train to Spring Valley became disabled, an NJ Transit spokesperson said.
