Ice Storm Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Hudson Valley
Tens of thousands of Hudson Valley residents are without power late Friday morning, Feb. 4 as an ice storm rolls through the region.
As of 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Central Hudson was reporting around 500 active outages, impacting more than 41,000 of the company’s Hudson Valley customers.

Storm Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Area
Thousands in the area have lost power as a storm system has brought heavy rain and wind gusts topping 50 mph to the Hudson Valley.
As of 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, Central Hudson was reporting 18 active outages that were impacting 1,035 customers: 624 in Ulster County, 180 in Dutchess, 125 in Columbia County, and 106 in Greene County.
A total of 2,678 of NYSEG’s 901,052 customers, including 1,229 in Dutchess, 420 in Sullivan, and 362 in Ulster, are without power.
Orange & Rockland Utilities were reporting 13 outages that were impacting 2,234 of its 303,406 customers.

There’s light at the end of the tunnel for Orange and Rockland county residents as utility crews continue cleaning up from the damage done by Tropical Storm Isaias.
Orange & Rockland Utilities reported on Friday, Aug. 7 that it restored nearly 80 percent of the reported outages caused by the storm, though thousands are still waiting to turn the lights back on.

Nearly 100,000 Rockland and Orange County residents were left without power as Tropical Storm Isaias rocked the region with extreme wind gusts that toppled trees, felled utility poles and downed power lines throughout the area.
Orange & Rockland Utilities was reporting 2,476 outages in the Hudson Valley as of 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, impacting 71,013 of their 229,619 customers.

As of 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, Central Hudson was reporting that 3,434 Orange County residents were still without power. Outages were still being reported in Cornwall (2,779), Newburgh (388), Cornwall (220), and New Windsor (47).
Orange & Rockland Utilities was reporting 130 outages in Orange County, and 249 outages in Rockland.

A storm watch has been issued by Orange & Rockland Utilities in advance of children hitting the streets to trick-or-treat.
A Storm Watch was issued by the utility company on Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31, as a weather system “packing high, gusty winds, heavy rain, and isolated thunderstorms are expected to pound the region Thursday evening overnight into Friday morning, Nov. 1.”

IDs Released For Utility Workers Electrocuted In Area
Police have identified two electric workers who were found dead at the bottom of an electric pole after firefighters responded to a brush fire in Orange County.
Derrick Paris, 51, of West Caldwell, New Jersey, and Justin McLoughlin, 28, of Trenton, Georgia, were working as private contractors for Orange & Rockland Utilities, when the were killed, said ABC 7.
