Hudson Valley Man Charged In Home Invasion, Gas Station Armed Robberies, Police Say A 20-year-old man has been charged for his participation in a string of armed home invasion and gas station robberies. Orange County resident Tishaawn Woods, of Newburgh, was apprehended in Orange, New Jersey, on Thursday, April 8, and charged with the crimes that took place in around the city of Newburgh, said Audrey Strauss, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Gunman Who Robbed 14 Hotels In Airmont, Nanuet, Elsewhere Gets 21 Years In Federal Pen A 46-year-old man who robbed employees at gunpoint at hotels in Airmont and Nanuet was sentenced Tuesday to 21 years in federal prison. Tremone Burnett, 46, of Orange, New Jersey, must serve just about all of the term: There's no parole in the federal prison system. Burnett told a federal judge in Newark three months ago that he tied the victims’ hands and feet in some of the holdups -- another dozen of which occurred in New Jersey. He also fired the gun during a hotel robbery at a Sheraton in Weehawken, federal prosecutors said. Beloved Longtime Rockland Restaurant Owner Dies At 79 The longtime owner of the El Bandido restaurants in Rockland, Orange and Essex counties, died on Friday, April 6 surrounded by his family at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. He was 79. Santiago Manuel Tello, a 20 year resident of Upper Saddle River, was born May 1, 1938, in Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico and emigrated to the U.S. in the mid-70's.  Known as "Manny," to all, he moved to the U.S. seeking the American dream and found it by opening El Bandido Restaurant in Spring Valley in 1976, with his friend Leonardo Weiner.  After launching El Bandido in Spring Valley, Tello added restauran…
