This Westchester County Hospital Receives 'A' Grade For Patient Safety, Report Says
One hospital in the Hudson Valley is at the top of its class for keeping patients safe, according to a new report.
Westchester County's White Plains Hospital, located at 41 East Post Rd, has been assigned an "A" grade for patient safety in a new Fall 2022 report by the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog organization that advocates for safety in hospitals.

New details and identifications of those involved have been released after 13 people were hospitalized when a large passenger van crashed on the New York State Thruway.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 south of Albany, on the southbound side of I-87 near Exit 21B in the town of Athens in Greene County.

Suspect Nabbed After Police Sergeant Dragged During Traffic Stop In Hudson Valley
A New York State trooper was injured when he was dragged by a vehicle he had stopped for a traffic violation in the Hudson Valley.
Sergeant Gregory Lischak was injured in Dutchess County around 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16 during the stop on Route 9G in Rhinebeck.
A preliminary investigation determined the driver, Nicolas Antunano, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, was wanted on an outstanding warrant, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
While attempting to take Antunano into custody, Antunano abruptly drove away from the scene, dragging Lischak, he added.

Two people were injured when the driver of a car lost control of the vehicle while allegedly using a cell phone while driving and slammed into a telephone pole.The crash took place around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, on East Market Street at the intersection with Baxter Road in the village of Red Hook, said Red Hook Police.
Investigating officers determined that a 2002 Ford driven by Dylan Gop, 25, of Grayville, and a 21-year-old passenger, were westbound on East Market Street when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the telephone pole, police said in a release.
