Driver Airlifted After Crashing Into School Bus In Region The driver of a minivan was airlifted following a crash with a full-size school bus in the region. The collision occurred in Sullivan County around 8:30 a.m., Monday, May 20, on Route 52 in Jeffersonville. According to Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, deputies found a full-size school bus that had been traveling westbound when it was struck by a minivan traveling east.  Chaboty said an investigation at the scene indicated the minivan crossed the double yellow line into the path of the bus causing the collision.  Sullivan County Sheriff's Offic…

Tornado: Details Released On Strong Twister With 115 MPH Winds That Hit Region Detailed information has now been released about a tornado that touched down in New York during a round of isolated, severe thunderstorms over the weekend. The twister tore through an area in the Catskills, in northwestern Sullivan County, at around nightfall Saturday. Missing Hudson Valley Woman Found Dead A 74-year-old upper Hudson Valley woman who went missing has been found dead, state police said. Marlene Pesekow, who had dementia and was classified as a vulnerable adult, went missing on foot in Sullivan County from the Jeffersonville Adult home, located at 4806 Route 52 in Jeffersonville, at approximately 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, according to state police.  She was located deceased late Tuesday evening. State police said there appears to be no foul play in her death. The investigation is ongoing.
