Me-ouch! New York is getting closer to becoming the first state to ban the declawing of cats, passing legislation in the Senate and Assembly on Tuesday, June 4 that has been gaining steam for weeks. Ex-Cop Charged With Killing Four In Hudson Valley Assaulted In Prison
Nicholas Tartaglione, a former police officer in Westchester and Dutchess counties charged with killing four people, is receiving inhumane treatment, including being assaulted at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, according to a letter his attorney wrote. Tartaglione, of Otisville in Orange County, was hospitalized for more than two weeks for a fractured eye socket bone, after being assaulted Feb. 11 in the prison's general population unit, the letter to U.S. District Judge Kenneth Karas from his attorney Bruce Barket said.
