A storm system will be accompanied by a cold blast that will bring some snowfall to parts of the region and wind gusts that could cause power outages throughout the area. The time frame for potential snowfall, mainly north of I-84 in New York and Connecticut, is overnight Friday, May 8 into Saturday morning, May 9. (See image above.) Driver Runs Off Road, Flips Three Times In I-84, Taconic Parkway Stolen Car Chase
A 27-year-old man allegedly driving a stolen vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway was nabbed when a license plate reader notified police of its location and a local sheriff's deputy happened to be in the area. The incident took place around 12:17 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, when Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy Amanda Collier was on patrol and received the stolen vehicle notice, the department said. The vehicle was a 2006 gray Acura and was reported stolen out of the Bronx. Collier positioned herself on the Taconic overpass located at Bryant Pond Road and within about eight minutes the vehicle…

As much as 6 inches of snowfall is expected in parts of upstate New York from a quick-moving storm system that will sweep through the area. A spring that's been as far from normal as imaginable will soon bring rarely seen mid-April slippery roads from accumulating snowfall. I-84 Reopens Following Rollover Crash
Both lanes on a section of I-84 have reopened following a single-vehicle crash in the area. It happened around 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, in Dutchess County near Exit 17 in Holmes, New York State Police said. The roadway was closed for at least an hour following the crash in which the vehicle, reportedly involved in a police pursuit, overturned. State Police reported the Putnam County Sheriff's Office had taken over the investigation of the crash. This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Eye Of The Storm: Here Are Brand-New Snowfall Projections
A storm system bringing accumulating snow to inland areas and rain at times to the entire region has arrived. Precipitation arrived as light, wet snow north of I-287 and the Merritt Parkway and as rain farther south just before daybreak on Monday, March 23. After a lull later in the morning, precipitation will return around 2 p.m. As the temperature will be above freezing south of I-84, it will be rain.
