The collision occurred in Sullivan County on Route 17 at 7:40 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the town of Liberty. According to Trooper Jennifer Alvarez of the New York State Police, a 2011 Cadillac traveling northwest near the ramp at Exit 110A pulled in front of a 1995 Ford on Route 55, causing the front of the Ford to hit the driver's side of the Cadillac. The Greene County wreck happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20, on Route 23 in the town of Windham. Sheriff’s officials said a Buick SUV was heading eastbound on State Route 23 when it collided with a westbound Chevrolet pickup truck near the intersection of Cross Road. Port Chester Police Officer Christopher Bernal, who was driving a 2004 Honda motorcycle northbound on SR 9W, was killed when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, Nevel said.
