The blaze broke out at around 6:40 a.m. Friday, June 21 in New Rochelle. Fatal Crash: Vehicle Hits Tree, Goes Up In Flames On Busy Hudson Valley Highway A person was killed in a fiery crash on a busy Hudson Valley highway, police announced.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Monday, May 6, around 7:15 p.m., when a vehicle traveling on I-84 in Kent left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. After hitting the tree, the vehicle went up in flames, Hicks said. The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash has not been released. ID Released For Man Killed In Rockland House Fire A man who died during an early morning fire in Rockland County has been identified. Michael Mantell, 75, of Nanuet, died around 6:20 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, during a fire at his home at 27 Amarillo Drive, said the Clarkstown Police Department. Upon arrival, officials said that firefighters found the home fully engulfed. It took crews less than an hour to knock down the flames.
