Stony Point Driver Found Passed Out, Vehicle Running, With Drugs, Booze, Loaded Gun, Police Say
A Stony Point driver who was found passed out with the motor running Wednesday morning in a park near the Rockland border was carrying a loaded handgun, authorities said.
Officers responding to a 7:45 a.m. call found Jeremy T. Garcia, 22, out cold behind the wheel -- either from drugs or alcohol, Northvale, NJ Police Chief Howard Ostrow said.
They smelled burnt marijuana and saw prescription drugs on the passenger seat, he said.
The officers woke Garcia after several attempts, after which he filed field sobriety tests, the chief said.

40-Year-Old Stopped On I-87 Had BAC Twice Legal Limit, Police Say
A man with a previous DWI conviction is facing new charges after allegedly driving drunk with a blood-alcohol level nearly triple the legal limit on I-87, New York State Police said.
Troopers in Clarkstown stopped Pedro Cruzgonzalez, 40, of Hillsborough, New Jersey, at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, when he committed a vehicle and traffic violation on I-87.
According to police, during the subsequent stop, it was determined that Cruzgonzalez was allegedly intoxicated, and he was taken into custody.

Drunk Driver Nabbed With Mushrooms, Pot, Police Say
A 28-year-old man ended up in handcuffs for DWI after police saw him allegedly run a stop sign, and during a traffic stop found mushrooms and marijuana.
Dillon A. Gilbert, of Acra, in Greene County, was arrested around 5:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, after officers saw him run a stop sign on Route 32 in Saugerties, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said.

On Saturday, Jan. 4, State Police from Cortlandt arrested Billy J. Batalla Fuentes, 26, of Peekskill, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 9 in the village of Croton-on-Hudson, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Red-Light Runner Nabbed For DWI, Driving With Revoked License In Rockland, Police Say
A 35-year-old man was nabbed for alleged DWI and driving without a license after he was spotted by police running a red light.
Raymond Boccellari was arrested around 2:31 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, after an Orangetown Police officer spotted him running a "steady" red light on East Central Avenue in Pearl River, said the Orangetown Police.
During the stop, officers determined that Boccellari, of Dumont, New Jersey, was driving in an intoxicated condition and his driver's license was revoked due to a previous DWI conviction in 2018, police said.
