Man Charged With DWI After Jeep Slams Into Utility Pole, State Police Say A Hudson Valley man is facing charges after allegedly driving drunk and crashing into a utility pole, state police said. Troopers were dispatched to a stretch of the Greenville Turnpike in Greenville on Friday, May 15, where there was a report of a crash. According to police, upon arrival, troopers found a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had struck a pole. Outside of the Jeep was Orange County resident Joseph Torregrossa, 67, of Port Jervis. Police: Drunk Driving Stop Turns Violent As Cop Sustains Injury While Suspect Is Apprehended A 36-year-old man who was allegedly driving drunk is facing a host of charges after a motor vehicle stop turned violent, resulting in an injury to a police officer in the area. It happened on Friday, Feb. 28 at about 2 a.m. in Nyack. The Orangetown Police Officer had stopped a 2004 Lincoln four-door sedan for violations of state vehicle and traffic law.  The driver of the vehicle, Tyrell Bridgers, of Spring Valley, appeared to be intoxicated, according to police.
