Double-Fatal Crash: Orange County Men In 20s ID'd As Victims After After Vehicle Hits Deer Two men from the region were killed when the vehicle they were riding struck a deer and then a tree, ejecting both. The incident occurred in Sullivan County at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, in the area of 196 Rio Dam Road in Lumberland. According to Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, an investigation revealed that two men were riding a single four-wheel ATV westbound on Rio Dam Road when they struck a deer in the roadway.  Chaboty said this caused the quad to leave the pavement and strike a tree. Upon impact, both the driver and the passenger were ejected.  …

Deer Hits Bicyclist During Popular Road Race In Area A woman suffered a broken arm and leg after being hit by a deer while participating in a popular road race in the area. Caroline Lepage, 48, of Quebec, was hit about 10 a.m., Sunday, May 19, while riding her bike northbound during the annual Gran Fondo Race on Route 9W near Boulderberg Road in Tomkins Cove, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Hylas.
