Van Plunges Into Lake In Hudson Valley
Firefighters had to ensure no hazardous fluids entered a Hudson Valley lake after a van plunged into it. The crash happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, July 30, when a van drove into Lake Mahopac on South Lake Boulevard, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department. After the incident, crews used hazardous material absorbent booms around the van to absorb any potential vehicle fluid leaks as it was removed from the water. The cause of the crash was not released.

33-Year-Old Driver Nabbed After Hudson Valley Police Pursuit Ends In Crash
A 33-year-old Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly taking New York State Police on a pursuit, ending in a crash with damage to a police car. Dutchess County resident Christopher Melvin, age 33, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested in Orange County on Tuesday, June 11, in the town of Newburgh after crashing into a police vehicle. Teen Driver Wanted By FBI ID'd After Chase, Crash In Westchester
A teenage suspect who was one of four wanted by the FBI is facing multiple felony charges after taking police on a chase through Westchester before crashing and being apprehended, authorities announced. The Westchester County Police Real Time Crime Center alerted the New Rochelle Police Department that a vehicle driven by suspects wanted by the FBI was driving through the city in the area of North Avenue and Huguenot Street. Two Seriously Injured In Crash On Busy Area Roadway
Two people were seriously injured during a crash in the region. The crash took place around 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13 on Route 6 in Woodbury in Orange County, said the New York State Police. Woodbury fire officials said the occupants of both vehicles were extricated and transported to local hospitals with serious injuries.
