Newburgh Man, Brother Sentenced For Killing Of Hudson Valley Man
Two brothers who killed a Hudson Valley man who shot him 12 times and left him lying in his driveway to be found by a sanitation worker have been sentenced to years in prison.
The incident occurred in Ulster County in Jan. 2023 in Plattekill.
The men, Orange County resident Junando Dawkins, age 30, of Newburgh, and his brother, Juwaugh Dawkins, age 34, of Jacksonville, Florida, were sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The owner of a popular Hudson Valley deli who died in an accident over the weekend is being remembered for his kindness and positivity.
Orange County resident Anthony Apostolico, age 48, of Chester, died on Sunday, June 19, when a tree fell on top of a pickup truck that he was a passenger in.
Police said the accident happened in Rockland County on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Stony Point.

Covid-19: 175th Dutchess County Fair Canceled For This Year
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has resulted in the closure of yet another staple, the Dutchess County Fair, for this year.
Fair officials announced on Wednesday, June 3, they had "made the incredibly emotional and difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Dutchess County Fair," due to concerns for the safety of the many guests.
The fair had been scheduled to take place from Tuesday, Aug. 25 to Sunday, Aug. 30 at the fairgrounds in Rhinebeck.
The 175th Dutchess County Fair will return on August 24 -29, 2021, fair officials said.
