Drag Queen Story Hour Event In Hudson Valley Sparks Planned Protest
A drag queen story hour for children in the Hudson Valley has sparked planned protests at the bookstore where the sold-out event is taking place. The event, "Drag Queen Story Hour With Cookie Doe," will be held in Orange County at the Montgomery Book Exchange Children’s Chapter in Montgomery at 2 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 1. $2 Million Plaza At Walkway Over Hudson State Historic Park Opens To Public
Officials have announced the opening of a $2 million plaza outside of the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park. The East Gate Plaza is located outside of the Poughkeepsie entrance of the walkway, according to an announcement from Gov. Kathy Hochul. The state said the new space more than doubles the size of the pathway at the top of the Washington Street Stairs, and it can be used for community events. Winding Through Warwick Raises More Than $47,000 To Support St. Anthony Community Hospital
More than 550 people attended the Winding Through Warwick holiday house tour on December 1 to support St. Anthony Community Hospital, Schervier Pavilion and Mount Alverno Center, all members of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). More than $47,000 was raised to support advances in care for patients and residents of these facilities. Photos: 'Kooky, Spooky' Decor For Halloween Turns Heads In Northern Westchester
A Northern Westchester County homeowner set up a spook-tacular special treat for his neighbors. Buchanan resident Brian Neurauter has set up a maze and haunted house on 4th Street, complete with all the ghouls, goblins and other Halloween fixings. Hundreds of children from around the area have visited the residence leading up to the holiday, with plenty more expected to take the tour on Halloween afternoon and evening. The experience comes complete with skeletons, zombies, spiders, bats, the undead and plenty of other spooky surprises for all comers.
