Four Rescued In Hudson River Jet Ski Emergency
This story has been updated. Four people were rescued late Saturday night following a 911 call of a water emergency involving Jet Ski watercraft in distress on the Hudson River in the vicinity of Norrie Point Marina in the hamlet of Staatsburgh in Hyde Park. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the 911 call at around 11 p.m. Two Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office boats, the City of Poughkeepsie Fire boat and a New York State Police helicopter were dispatched to the scene along with Roosevelt Fire Department and Northern Dutchess Paramedics. ID Released After Body Pulled From Hudson River
Police have released the identity of a body found floating in the Hudson River on Tuesday. The Dutchess County Medical Examiner's Office said late Thursday afternoon that man pulled from the river is Paul Moschitta, 49, of the City of Poughkeepsie, who had been missing since July 24 when he jumped into the river to help a struggling swimmer. Moschitta's body was found floating in the Hudson River in the area of the Mid-Hudson Bridge a week after he was reported missing. The search for a man who went missing Tuesday afternoon in the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie will be suspended Sunday evening, Lt. Shawn A. Castano of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office announced. The 49-year-old man has been identified as Paul Machettia of the City of Poughkeepsie. The search for a man who went missing Tuesday afternoon in the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie has entered its third day Thursday morning. The 49-year-old man has been identified as Paul Machettia of the City of Poughkeepsie. Five People Rescued, One Missing In Hudson River
Click here for an updated story: ID Released For Man Who Went Missing In Hudson River A search is underway for a person missing in the Hudson River, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department. The incident which began around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, involves six people who were reported having problems in the water near the pier by the Rip Van Winkle apartments. Five people have been transported to an area hospital. The department's Marine 1 unit is still searching for one person unaccounted for. This is a developing story. Poughkeepsie House Fire Displaces Family Of Four
A two-alarm fire in the City of Poughkeepsie displaced three children and one adult, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department. Firefighters received notice of the fire around 11:38 a.m. Wednesday at 22 Bement Ave., said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson. The fire, which started in a second-floor bathroom fan, was contained to the room of origin, the chief said. The top three floors of the seven-story Poughkeepsie building that collapsed on Monday, trapping two people, will be demolished, according to city officials. Suicidal Man Holding Onto Walkway Over Hudson Railing Pulled To Safety
In a dramatic rescue, a distraught man who had climbed over the Walkway Over the Hudson and was dangling over the water clinging to a railing was pulled to safety by City of Poughkeepsie police, and a firefighter.
