Drunk Driver Hits Mailboxes, Drives Across Lawn In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A 70-year-old Hudson Valley man was charged with DWI after he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and drove across a lawn, sideswiping a row of mailboxes. Rockland County resident Peter Didenko, of Haverstraw, was arrested around 4:15 p.m. Saturday, May 20 in Stony Point, said Lt. Greg Becker, of the Stony Point Police. Didenko was found by Stony Point Police patrol officers in the area of Central Highway and Route 210 when they responded to a call for a one-car accident. Expect Delays: Resurfacing On Rockland Roadway To Span Three Days
Officials have advised motorists in Rockland County to expect delays due to the planned resurfacing of a stretch of road. The Rockland County Highway Department plans to resurface Filors Lane from Hammond Road to Central Highway in Stony Point, Rockland County officials announced. The resurfacing is set to take place from Thursday, July 7, through Saturday, July 9, officials said. Motorists should plan to take alternate routes, the department said.

Reports Of An Unresponsive Driver Lead To Heroin Arrest In Stony Point
A 32-year-old was busted for possession of heroin after police received reports of a driver sitting behind the wheel of his car unresponsive. Isaac Molina of Stony Point was arrested around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, after police responded to the intersection of Filors Lane and Central Highway for a report of a motorist sitting behind the wheel unresponsive, said Stony Point Police Lt. Social Media Leads To Garnerville Driver In Halloween Night Stony Point Hit-Run
With the help of social media, a 49-year-old man was nabbed for hitting a parked car in Stony Point and then leaving the scene. Michael Dove of Garnerville was charged for the incident that took place on Halloween around 7 p.m. after the police posted a photo of his vehicle on Facebook and neighbors began sharing the item, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Hylas.
