Area Man Threatening To Set His Vehicle On Fire Surrenders, Police Say
A man was taken to an area hospital for observation after calling the police and telling them he was sitting in a vehicle doused with gasoline and explosives. The incident took place around 1 a.m., Sunday, April 11, on Main Street in the City of Beacon, said Detective Sergeant Jason Johnson of the City of Beacon Police Department. According to Johnson, the 64-year man called Dutchess County 911 and stated that he was sitting in his vehicle doused in gasoline with explosives and a loaded firearm. Residents Evacuated After Fire Breaks Out In Beacon Building
All hands were on deck on Sunday morning when a two-alarm fire broke out in a senior housing building in Beacon that had to be evacuated. Members of the MTA Police, Beacon Fire and Police Departments were dispatched to a local apartment building that houses seniors shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, where there was a report of smoky conditions inside the residence. 51-Year-Old OD Victim Saved By Narcan In Beacon
Some fast acting police officers in Dutchess County helped save the life of a man in Beacon who may have been suffering an early morning overdose. First responders from the Beacon Police and Fire Departments responded to an emergency medical services call at approximately 5 a.m. in the city, where there was a report of a possible overdose victim.
