A 33-year-old Connecticut man accused of selling controlled substances and fleeing from officers was jailed in the Hudson Valley after being apprehended on multiple outstanding warrants, police said. Hartford County resident Luis Flores of New Britain was arrested at Connecticut's Derby Superior Court and extradited back to Putnam County on Tuesday, Oct. 22, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday, Oct. 28. A Hudson Valley man has been charged with a hate crime after allegedly robbing and stealing a woman's car at a gas station. The incident took place in Ulster County around 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the Mobil Station on Route 209 in the town of Wawarsing. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, a preliminary investigation revealed that Shirley Clayton, an 84-year-old woman from the hamlet of Kerhonkson was pumping gas when she was assaulted by Christopher Doulin, age 37, of Lake Katrine. A 27-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend's pets over the course of a year, authorities announced. Matthew Savinovich, of the borough of Norwood in Bergen County, New Jersey, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 6 by officers from the Putnam County SPCA for allegedly killing three chihuahuas and a ferret that belonged to his ex in Lake Peekskill. Seen him? The Town of Newburgh Police Department has issued an alert for a wanted man as they attempt to locate Jose Guerrero, who has been wanted since his arrest in 2012. Guerrero was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon in November 2012 and later bail jumping, prompting a warrant to be issued for his arrest when he failed to show up for court proceedings. Man Wanted For Criminal Possession Of Weapon, Bail Jumping
An alert has been issued for a wanted man considered to be violent by New York State Police in Sullivan County. Daniel McKoy is wanted by New York State Police in Wurtsboro for criminal possession of a weapon and bail jumping. Police said that McKoy was initially arrested on the weapons charge and the bail jumping charge was later tacked on when he was arrested in California and extradited back to New York. An Orange County man has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and bail-jumping after he burned a kitten and a cat to death in a cage. Dee Jay Atkins, 55, pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated cruelty to animals and second-degree bail jumping, confirmed the Orange County District Attorney's Office. During his plea, Atkins admitted that on Aug. 6 he caught the cat and kitten in a cage, poured lighter fluid on them and then lit them on fire, killing both, the DA's Office said.
